The Crioestaminal & SPCE-TC Award for Research in Regenerative Medicine recognizes the best scientific publication, whether basic or applied, in the field of regenerative medicine, conducted wholly or partially at Portuguese institutions. Awarded during SPCE-TC International Meetings, it is open to SPCE-TC members with papers published in indexed scientific journals.

Aiming to promote research in the field of Regenerative Medicine, the Portuguese Society for Stem Cells and Cell Therapy (SPCE-TC) and Crioestaminal are launching, in 2025, the 4th edition of the “Research Award in Regenerative Medicine”. This award will distinguish the best basic or applied research publication in the designated field, authored by national or international researchers, conducted wholly or partially in Portuguese institutions in the year prior to its attribution (2024). The award consists of a €2,000 monetary prize and free registration for the 2025 SPCE-TC International Meeting in Porto.
Eligible works are those published in indexed scientific journals, whose first and/or last authors are SPCE-TC members in good standing, working in Portugal at the time of the research and application.
Applicants for the 4th edition must submit their work by 31 August 2025 via email to geralspcetc@gmail.com. The application should include a motivation letter highlighting the publication’s relevance, proof of SPCE-TC membership, and a PDF of the publication (with supplementary material, if available).
The authors of the winning work will be notified by SPCE-TC no later than the week before the 2025 SPCE-TC International Meeting, to be held in Porto on 20–21 November. The public announcement and award ceremony will take place during the Meeting, where one of the authors will present the work.
